Renovation of the Temple Pond.
Water is going to be the costliest commodity in the future. Even wars may be fought for water. It is every citizen’s responsibility to conserve water. It May be in the form rain water harvesting from roof tops or maintaining well and ponds or any other means.

Realizing the pivotal role of temple tanks in maintaining hydrological balance, we have taken the responsibility of restoring our big temple pond. The edakkunni temple pond has been cleaned and restructured spending almost a two lakhs of rupees which require more funds to complete. Thanks to all who have contributed to this serious venture and appeal is made to all who read this contribute generously.

We are also having plans also involve diverting the rooftop water from all the surrounding houses into the tank. We are trying to refurbish the pond which is a century old. We are raising funds for desiltation and to raise the compound walls. It will check encroachments and the entry of waste water in the tank. Already operational it will meet the daily needs of the temple will also improve the surrounding water tables.

After facing the heat of drought this year, both state and society are turning to their traditional wisdom for respite.
